Life (cf. biota) is a characteristic that distinguishes objects that have self-sustaining biological processes ("alive," "living"), from those which do not —either because such functions have ceased (death), or else because they lack such functions and are classified as "inanimate."
In biology, the science that studies living organisms, "life" is the condition which distinguishes active organisms from inorganic matter, including the capacity for growth, functional activity and the continual change preceding death. A diverse array of living organisms (life forms) can be found in the biosphere on Earth, and properties common to these organisms—plants, animals, fungi, protists, archaea, and bacteria — are a carbon- and water-based cellular form with complex organization and heritable genetic information. Living organisms undergo metabolism, maintain homeostasis, possess a capacity to grow, respond to stimuli, reproduce and, through natural selection, adapt to their environment in successive generations. More complex living organisms can communicate through various means.
Given the notion that we exclude "death" in the common sense from a "ghost", then it would follow that any entity capable of sustaining itself by "feeding" on energy (as we do as biologicals) would qualify as "living".Since I've removed the mystical definition in this overly simplistic model (my point being to get you to think in a new way about the afterlife and the dead), I've become convinced that it is possible to stimulate paranormal activity in controlled circumstances by using electricity as the "food".
Considering that spirits existed long before we had the tools we had now, one could make the theory that DC (direct current) sources of power might be the answer to how these entities derive their power. So this may explain the predominance of ghostly activity in thunderstorms. On to the point of this article.
I'm convinced that I can use electrical stimuli in the form of commonly available lightning globes as a starting point to attract paranormal activity.
So the experiment is for me to design an experiment to do this. I'm settling on the idea of putting a EMF meter in proximity to, but far enough away from one of these globes as to detect potential activity.
At the same time, I want to have an EVP recorder running to examine the potential utterances made if anything or anyone comes a calling. I will also place a temperature recorder nearby and examine any possible temperature changes related to potential spiritual activity.
And finally, I will film the entire event using IR light and to do the entire experiment in one-hour increments to examine how the environmental changes over a range times to examine best approaches and narrow in on what sorts of electrical energy seems to attract ghosts.
I've also placed an order for an EM-pump and will be doing the same thing again, with same circumstances and equipment, less the globe. We'll see how each approach works. I'll continue to expand on this article and will keep you up to date as our experimentation goes forward.
I'd be curious to hear from other paranormal researchers who are interested in the idea and who may wish to collaborate on similar experiments or ideas.
